Brides to Be,

While making the decision to marry the man of my dreams came easy to me, my wedding dress was quite the opposite. Perhaps like you, I am sort of a perfectionist.

While most wedding details come down to a 5-6 multiple choice answer (1... 2... 3... 4... 5 bridesmaids?) or sometimes if you are lucky, a yes or no answer (kids or no kids at the reception?), with a wedding dress its just not that simple. For months and months I dragged my friends from shop to shop looking for the perfect dress. Every one I tried on just seemed to have some small detail I did not like i. e. too many beads or ewwwww there is a bow! I often found myself thinking, “If I could have the top of that dress, with the waistline of that one, and the skirt of that one it would be perfect!!!” but for some reason, maybe it was the perfectionist in me, I could not find the PERFECT dress… the one that had it all… until I found the cutest little design studio on 3rd near La Brea called Grace Bridal and the most helpful designers, Loyce and her mom Sara.

As I sat on the antique couch in Loyce’s quaint studio and discussed various designs from a plethora of magazines one early evening and listened to her incorporate what I was saying with her experienced knowledge of materials, lace and fabrics. I realized a custom gown was the one for me. And not just any custom gown, a Sharzi original. With fair prices and an honest mouth, Loyce was everything I needed in a designer.

Throughout the process of building my dress, Loyce made me feel special and important. I swear each time I came in for a fitting I had a new idea for a detail to be added to my dress (the perfectionist in me). At one point I remember I was stuck on the idea of having a big colored sash around my waist and for weeks Loyce entertained the idea by bringing me various sized ribbons and colors and then one day I decided I was “over it” and wanted to go back to my original design and Loyce just smiled and said “honey whatever you want is fine by me.” And for this reason, you should really think hard about investing the next several months with Grace Bridal in building your dream dress because I promise you its worth it!

The kind of attention and expertise Loyce gave and brought me throughout my dress building process was amazing and unique, unlike anything else I experienced in the dress shops I explored before finding her, and trust me I went to MANY. Unfortunately I didn’t have a mother to attend my fittings or help plan my wedding and I have to tell you with Loyce and her mom Sara around laughing, taking pictures of me as my dress grew through each of the stages to completion, and brainstorming other wedding details with me, I can honestly say I don’t think I missed out on anything.

It’s true what they say about getting the perfect dress you know! When you try it on you just know… and if you have not felt that yet, I highly recommend working with Grace Bridal to build the perfect dress that gives it to you!

From one old bride to a new one, good luck in the months that follow. Remember to laugh often and smile even more.

Married & Loving It!
